Blacksburg Yoga Collective

Donation-based for every body

About BYC

BYC was founded in August 2013 by Meredith Hampton. We are a traveling yoga collective and our group comprises an eclectic mix of creative, passionate yogis committed to providing thoughtful, inspired and affordable yoga offerings for the New River Valley. We strive to refine our teaching practices by maintaining open, honest learning spaces.

COST: BYC gladly accepts cash donations to help sustain the collective. We welcome everyone regardless of financial situation. If you are able to make a cash donation we suggest $5-$10 per an offering.  Our classes are made possible by the ongoing generosity and support of Glade Road Growing , Hahn Horticulture Garden, Hethwood Foundation, and other organizations.

TEACHERS: BYC features teachers who yield from a variety of backgrounds. Visit the BYC Creative Team page for more information.

LOCATIONS: We are a traveling yoga and practice at several locations around Blacksburg. Visit the Locations page for more information.

STYLE: BYC offers instruction for all levels of experience and features predominately Hatha and Vinyassa yoga traditions. We strive to make yoga accessible for all-levels and offer modifications for anyone who’s interested in relaxing the tensions of the mind and body. The style of a given class aligns with the teacher. Please read our Offering Descriptions for more information.

MISSION: The mission of the Blacksburg Yoga Collective is to provide an open space for our community members to gather and share breath and body movement work.
